Again another week crossed off the calendar! Too bad my To-Do list can’t look the same way. I’ve got things I need to do, want to do and would like to do before the Girls get here, which is only 28 more days by the way, but I’m not going to stress. I’m hoping as long as I’ve got clean sheets, clean towels, a little food and a LOT of Firefly they’ll enjoy their stay.
I spent yesterday at the hospital with That Man. He had to have epidural steroid injections in his upper back. He hurt his shoulder at work back in October but because he still had to work as if he wasn’t hurt, he ended up causing some damage to his upper back. I just talked to him a little while ago and he said it’s not hurting as much as it was but it’s really tender today. Next on the schedule – surgery to repair the torn muscle in his shoulder. Ouch!
I’m still having issues with sleep. Last night I finally fell asleep around 2:30, 2:45. My alarm goes off at 5:30. I am dragging today let me tell you.
Have y’all see those Mio water enhancement drops? I found them at Walmart the other day and y’all they totally rock. I try to drink the water every day like we’re supposed to but can’t stand the taste of plain water so I use the Crystal Light little stick thingys. Well, the Mio is actually concentrated flavor drops that you add to your water. Right now I have Peach Tea and Berry Pomegranate, and they are delish. I add 3 or 4 squirts to my bottle of water and drink it right down. No calories, no sugar, no carbs, no fat. Nothing but water that I can tolerate now. (Note: In the spirit of full disclosure Mio did not give me these drops nor did they compensate me for saying this. I’m just giving my honest to gosh opinion. They're just that good y'all!)
Did I tell y’all my mom broke her leg a few weeks ago? She actually broke her FEMUR, the big bone in your thigh. She’s back home now but did have to have surgery to place a rod in there and then had to have some in-patient rehab. Still no weight on her leg so she’s in a wheelchair and sometimes a walker with a lot of pivoting going on. Now she’s going to physical therapy a few days a week so hopefully she’ll be back to normal as soon as possible. Let this be a reminder to y’all – take your calcium!
I tried to think of a good April Fool's joke to play on my boss who's out of the office until Monday but I couldn't come up with anything. Do y'all remember this one? It still makes me laugh when I remember all the color draining out of his face. Ha!
Well, I guess I'll finish up my lunch hour and get back to work. Have a great weekend y'all. I'll be spending mine helping That Man work on things at his land, then finishing up the planting and yard, laundry and cleaning at my house this weekend.. Hopefully I'll be so worn out I won't have a bit of trouble sleeping.
See y'all soon and don't take any wooden nickels!
