Wanna Win Something?

I’ve alluded to it enough, I do believe so let’s get the show on the road, k?

Crazy as it seems, I have surpassed the 200 follower mark.  To be exact, 229.  (Thank you tsue1136!)

So, in recognition of all you wonderful, funny, brilliant, crazy (you’re following me, aren’t you?) and lovely people I’m giving away a copy of a fabulous cookbook from my little corner of the bayou. “Marshes to Mansions” Treasured Recipes of South Louisiana.

m2m

It is the cook book of the Junior League of Lake Charles.  Y’all know how wonderful JL cookbooks are and I think this one is no different.  You can read more about it here if you’d like.

As I said before, I was an English major not math so entering is really, really easy.

First and mandatory entry:  You have to  leave a comment telling me what your ‘signature dish’ is.

Optional for 1 additional entry:  If you want to tweet about it, or blog about it you can – I’ll definitely not turn down any visitors to my place.

Optional for 1 additional entry:  Since I’m having a tiny touch of writer’s block, ask any question you like me to answer.

That’s it.  I’ll choose a Random winner and post the name on Sunday, August 8th.

Good luck and thanks for following this Rusty Southern Belle!

PS:  I’ll be having a few more giveaways this month so if cookbooks aren’t your thing, maybe the next one will be your cup of tea. Or coffee.

Congrats! I think my signature dish is probably mac & cheese - at least everyone knows it is my favorite!

Gurl...I want that book! Lol... I collect cook books!! My signature dish would probably be hamburger steak with mushroom gravy, home made mashed taters and green beans! Yummy!

Now....my question is " What are you looking forward to doing or seeing the most when you come down to "Da Berry?"

Tawnya said...

My signature dish is my garlic butter and bacon green beans or my twice baked cheddar bacon potatoes!

My question for you is If you had to move, what would you miss the most?

I would love to win this cookbook as I collect cookbooks! I guess my signature dish would probably have to be my Taco Soup, everyone loves it! My grandson does not eat a single vegetable, but with this soup he gets a bunch of them!

I also posted this on Facebook.

I feel like it's probably not right for me to try to enter since we're in the same Southern Girl Gang and all. Yo. However, my signature dish is Frito salad. (Now I'm throwing you a Southern Girl Gang sign, which is just me blowing you a kiss. If you were from a rival gang, I'd be blowing you that kiss on my middle finger.)

My question: Do you think it would beneficial for one of us to learn how to do the spray tan thing since we're going to be attending the full glitz child's pageant? You know, without a child. That way no one thinks we're sex offenders.

Oh this is exciting!!! I LOVE Southern cookbooks! My signature dish is a horribly unhealthy cheese-dip I make - but my favorite dish ever is a creamy Cajun pasta I make.

Oh, this is totally my thing!

Signature dish....probably a cheesy bread I make with lots of different ingredients for the spread.

My question?

What's your favorite thing about Louisiana? I could name a gazillion myself!

oooh, that cookbook looks like lots of fun! My signature dish is probably "Cowboy Beans" with sweet cornbread. It's not fancy, but it is pure comfort food that warms the belly.

I came over here at the suggestion of Robin at Your Daily Dose...and since I love to cook, was delighted to find your contest. I'm not sure I have a for real signature dish (my daughter told me I have many) but I'll go out on a limb and say chocolate bread pudding.

My question for you (and I'm new here so forgive me if you already covered this)is: What is YOUR signature dish?

My signature dish is Papa John's pizza!

My question is this: Where is the best boudain in southern Lousiana?

Small Town Girl said...

How neat! I don't know how I missed this post the first time, so without further ado....

My signature dish would be corn casserole and/ or buttermilk pie. Oh yum! I think I'm going to have to make that this week now that I thought about it.

Question: Would you rather have something super carbaholic like bread and pasta or go on a chocolate binge?

Debbie said...

I would have to say that some dessert would probably be my signature dish. I love to make pies, cakes and cookies. But, I'm not sure of exactly which one. I am quite fond of making apple pies and crisps though.

I am DYING here... I just called Mr. Daddy over here and chewed him out for not putting in an entry on your cookbook giveaway. Cuz I figured it would give us double the chances, right?

Well...

Looks like the man totally beat me to it!

And I'm left kinda wondering if that was a SUBTLE hint that his wife needs to learn how to cook?

He's sitting here with an SEG on his face and totally cracking up.

And YES, he makes the meanest Tupperware bowl full of salsa you ever had.

Me? I don't allow a single member of my family to order fajitas in a restaurant for fear of being supremely disappointed ;)

Rachel said...

A question for you???

When are you coming to the Northwest to hang out in our little redneck jail with me?

Juju at Tales of Whimsy.com said...

How fun! I would love to be entered :)

My signature dish?

Definitely my chorizo meatloaf ;)
