Meme Monday - And You Can Quote Me On That ~ 02/15/10

Since I'm such a quote nerd I decided if ever there was a Meme to hook up with, this is the one.  Yes.  I said quote nerd...as in I get several quote emails and newsletters daily.  Don't judge. Ok, here's the plan Stan.  Choose your fave quote, or quotes as the case may be, tell us your favorite quote and why. Then go visit SupahMommy, link up with and play along.  She's quite the witty little thing I must say. Oh, and her other blog Skinny Chics in Sumo Suits? It is pee your pants funny.  I'm just saying.  "And You Can Quote Me On That"...yep, I went there.

Because I live such a pure and wholesome life (no comments from the Peanut gallery) some of my favorite quotes are from Mother Teresa.   Here are two of them:

"People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway."  and "Jesus said love one another.  He didn't say love the whole world."

I just love that she got it.  People are nutso but that doesn't mean they don't deserve love.  And that thing about not loving the whole world?  The best ever!

And on a lighter note, here are two more.

A true Southern belle wouldn't be worth her weight in cotton if she didn't think this was one of the most profound literary statements/quotes ever made:

"I can't think about that right now.  If I do, I'll go crazy.  I'll think about that tomorrow."  none other than Miss Katie Scarlett O'Hara

There are days that I do not want to even contemplate the crapola in my life that I need to address and deal with.  It will still be there tomorrow.  Today I'm taking a "Mental Health Day".

And what self-respecting girl didn't want the closet of this gal?

"The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you always come home to. Sometimes it's the family you're born into and sometimes it's the one you make for yourself. " Carrie Bradshaw

Haven't we all realized that sometimes the best, most loving family isn't comprised of people who share your same DNA?

Now that I've proven myself to be a quote-fiend, head on over to SupahMommy's and share your's with the world.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment.
I heart comments!
I love your Mother Theresa quotes. She was an amazing woman and from what I have read she was also very down to earth. I think that is a woman we can all strive to emulate.

LOVE the quotes. And I think more people need to pay attention to Carrie Bradshaw's quote. It irritates me so much when people are more into the DNA make up of people than the actual person.
And everything Gone with the Wind is priceless!

When I think of you, I immediately think of Mother Teresa. Every time.

Oh God, I gotta go. The mascara that got in my eyes from laughing so hard I cried when I typed that is burning them!!

If I admit that I had to ask who Carrie Bradshaw was, will you still love me?

Leiah said...

Michelle -- I could never not love someone whose Chicken Ranch is so good I ate it for breakfast. Carrie Bradshaw: Sarah Jessica Parker's character in Sex and The City.

Candance - Good thing you've got all those pairs of cute glasses now that you're visibly impaired from laughing at me.

Rachel - You totally would adore Katiebug. She loves kids and is one of those babysitters who does stuff with the kids...like read, play games, etc. She would babysit Itty Bit for you on a regular basis.

Lisa, Elizabeth & Emily - GWTW is such a major part of my life that not only is my daughter named after Katie Scarlett and we've had dogs named Prissy, Tara, Rhett & Belle but I've also got an actual prop from the movie that Evelyn Keyes, who played the sister Suellen, used.

Sunday - Mother Teresa was an amazing woman. I can TRY to strive to be more like her but it's going to take a lot of work!
